a week on the coast

We spent the week at the beach with some close friends.  

On the Oregon Coast.  

 

Reconnecting after time apart.  Reading.  Boys playing.  

Drinks in the afternoon.  Food shared at a long dining table.  

 

Smashball on the beach.  Toes in the sand.  

Kids digging in the wading pools for hours.   

   

S'mores over the campfire.  Sticky fingers.  Melting chocolate.

 

Breakfast in Newport.  Fishing boats.  Fishermen in their 

boots mingle with tourists, all in line at the bakery.

 

Coffee with the seagulls.

A walk through town.   

Tourist nicknacks.  A seagull guarding his prize, a fish 

stolen from a fishing boat.  Fishermen taking a break along the street.

And fresh crab.  For all but me, the new vegetarian.  

Black bean salad with fresh grilled corn.  We will be sad

to go, but look forward to doing it again next summer.
