For those of you who know Seattle, this is NOT normal weather for us. I finally made a break from the house today. I have been in the house (other than runs to the trash can) since Tuesday night and couldn't take it anymore. I did finish my fingerless gloves (sorry, didn't get a shot of those, but you can see one in my last post) and paired them with the cable hat I knit from the same yarn, and I was good to go.
We ventured out up to Queen Anne (a very steep hill) to go Christmas shopping (Royal for me at Hilltop Yarn) and enjoyed lunch out (Noah's Bagels), then a hot chocolate (Caffe Ladro) a trip to the toy store (Communique Toys) then over to the yarn shop (Hilltop Yarn) followed by a quick stop by the great game store (Blue Highway Games). It felt so good to see PEOPLE again, I just wanted to hug everyone. I ran into one of my buddies (we do girls movie nights together with Daria too) who is going stir crazy too, but is lucky enough to live walking distance from downtown Queen Anne.
Cross country skis - the current preferred mode of transportation in Seattle. We used to go with my Dad when we were kids, makes me wish I had a pair of cross country skis right now.
Hanging out in Blue Highway Games.
I think we have gotten at least a foot of snow. We did do Christmas at our house yesterday with all my extended family, and had about 15 people over (everyone made it except my poor sister who got her truck stuck in a ditch - but did get back home safe and sound).
We ended the evening as most others, with some board games. Hope you all are safe and warm out there - Happy Holidays!
vancouver looks just like seattle. hard being at home, but kind of nice to relax and stay toasty.
